Description
Each of South-Western's CD-ROM simulations presents a challenging, interactive workplace experience that helps develop the skills most in-demand by today's employers. In Making Complex Decisions, the citizens of Pleasantwood face having a coal-burning factory built in their community. Users construct a decision matrix to analyze the impact of the new factory at one of three potential sites and in the process learn to: 1) analyze and evaluate data on pollution spread, seasonal scenarios and meteorological conditions 2) build a decision matrix to make tradeoffs between economic costs, citizen concerns, and environmental factors 3) work with a team to determine the best site 4) defend the final decision in a formal report and in an oral presentation System Requirements for CD-ROM: Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT. Intel Pentium or Pentium II processor (or equivalent), 75 MHz minimum (166 MHz for Windows 2000), 16 MB RAM or higher (32 MB for Windows 2000 and NT), 4x (minimum) CD-ROM drive, floppy disk drive, minimum 256-color, 640 X 480 resolution, SoundBlaster-compatible, 16-bit sound card, access to printer and Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or higher (can be installed from CD-ROM).
