内容説明
Patients with congenital heart disease (CHD), whether they have had surgery or not, tend to be at risk for arrhythmias and sudden death. The particular problems faced by a patient with CHD will often be unique to their specific heart defect. This book provides state-of-the-art information on the diagnosis and management of arrhythmias in these patients, often a difficult group to manage. Written mainly by a panel of pediatric cardiologists and electrphysiologists, who also take care of adults with CHD, it bridges the gap between the management of pediatric and adult arrhythmias.
The book opens with a general discussion of CHD and the cardiac electrical system before moving on to cover the pathogenesis of CHD and the mechanisms that underlie individual arrhythmias. Section Two deals with commonly encountered CHD sub-populations and the arrhythmias specific to these patients. Section Three deals with therapy, outlinging all the various options available for management of these patients.
This book will be an invaluable reference for all trainee and practicing pediatric cardiologists and will also appeal to adult cardiologists and electrophysiologists with an interest in this area.
