Description
Dharmakirti was a Buddhist logician of 640CE. In this text, Rajendra Prasad uses the method of contemporary logic to clarify Dharmakirti's system of inference. The author aims not at a historical study, but at philosophical analysis, and for this purpose, he examines the Nyayabindu with the assistance of Dharmottara's commentary. Despite not being organized along the lines of formal logic, Dharmakirti's inference emerges as a theory of deductive inference with an economy of formulation.
