Description and Table of Contents

Description

This volume contains most of the papers presented at the Sixth International Conference on Computer Modelling and Experimental Measurements of Seas and Coastal Regions. Presenting some of the most important recent developments in both fields, it highlights the importance of achieving harmonious and joint development between computer simulation and experimental techniques. The contributions address the study of seas and coastal regions under normal and extreme conditions, emphasising practical applications. They are grouped into the following sections: Shallow Water Studies; Estuarine Problems; Pollutant Transport and Dispersion; Oil Spills; Wave Studies; Coastal Erosion and Sedimentation; Sea Defence and Protection Systems; and Case Studies.

Table of Contents

  • Section 1 Shallow water studies: Solving non-hydrostatic Navier-Stokes equations with a free surface
  • Parallel edge-based implementation of the finite element method for shallow water equations
  • Three-dimensional hydrodynamic modeling of an industrial coastal area in United Arab Emirates
  • A fully nonlinear Boussinesq model for surf zone hydrodynamics
  • Modelling of flows, sea level variations and bottom stresses in the coastal zone of West Estonia
  • On coastal waves and related upwellings in the Narva bay
  • Wind-wave-current system in coastal ocean
  • High-order non-reflecting boundary conditions for dispersive wave problems in stratified media
  • Parallel computing for nearshore hydrodynamics. Section 2 Estuarine problems: Prediction of changes in tidal system and deltas at Nakdong estuary due to construction of Busan new port
  • Evaluation of M-Y closure model in tidal estuary with turbulence data from high-resolution current profiler
