内容説明
The "Essays in Biochemistry" series aims to provide undergraduates and first year postgraduates with a single source of information on the latest research in rapidly moving areas of biochemistry and molecular biology. Each chapter is written by an expert on the area of research and is a self-contained summary of the state-of-the art of that topic. "Programmed Cell Death" aims to highlight research on this topic by focusing on the following areas: the role of apoptosis in development; the role of caspases in apoptosis; the role of the mitochondrion in apoptosis; the role of death receptors such as Fas and other members of the TNF family; regulation of apoptosis by the bcI-2 family of proteins; the role of concogenes in the regulation of apoptosis; recognition and removal of dead cell; apoptosis and disease; and the manipulation of apoptosis for therapeutic purposes.
