内容説明

Swiss architect Theo Hotz has been raising large, industrial and institutional structures since 1949. Working predominantly within the Swiss landscape, he has been in the international spotlight since 1988, when the American institute of Architects presented him with the international R.S. Reynolds Memorial Award. Of late, he has received acclaim for his spectacular glass buildings, notably his 12,000-square-meter addition to the Basel Trade Fair complex--home of Art Basel--and also such structures as the Swiss Post Office and Telecom Building, the AMPA National Material Testing Institute in St. Gallen, and various industrial and urban development projects in Vienna and Stuttgart. Over the course of his long career. Hotz has helped to shape Swiss architecture; but his work with Norman Foster, Richard Rogers, and Renzo Piano are evidence of strong international links. This publication provides a long overdue base from which to discuss his continuous flow of work. Theo Hotz contains a complete record of the architect's projects from 1949 to the present, an exemplary analysis of his work by Hubertus Adam, and an essay by Philip Ursprung that uses Hotz's spectacular art collection to draw conclusions about his architectural oeuvre. 600 illustrations
