Description and Table of Contents
Description
This report combines detailed information from the three Censuses in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The results are provided for every topic covered by the Census for all of the UK Parliament's 659 constituencies. Results in this volume are presented as constituency profiles. These are a summary of the main Census indicators for each constituency containing details of more than 20 characteristics of specific interest to MPs and their electorate, including the percentage of the population of voting age, number travelling to work by public transport and ethnic and religious composition. The accompanying CD-ROM contains more detailed Key Statistics in a set of 30 tables covering the range of Census topics. This CD-ROM includes software for viewing and downloading results, and for deriving user defined versions along the same lines as CDs issued with previous Key Statistics reports. The information in this report provides valuable input to the Parliamentary process and is designed for ready comparison between constituencies.
