内容説明
Blackstone's Police Manual on Crime is the leading text on police law, and the only official reference work for police officers preparing for promotion examinations and for probationary officers. It covers all aspects of road traffic law and procedure from a police officer's perspective. This new edition has been extensively revised to incorporate all legislative developments such as the Police Reform Act 2002, and incorporates a number of case decisions and changes in policy. It also includes a new improved page design to aid independent study. Blackstone's Police Manuals have become the best-selling police reference text in the UK. In addition to being the only official study guide for the police promotion examination in England and Wales, and the recognised text for police probationers, the Manuals have quickly established themselves as the definitive source for all who are involved in police law and procedure.
Endorsed by Central Police Training and Development Authority, the Manuals have been written in consultation with polices force in England and Wales, incorporating views from Detective schools, Driver Training Centres, and operational officer and police managers countrywide. The Police Reform Act 2002 marks the latest and most wide-ranging of the government's effort to redesign and reinforce policing policy across England and Wales. Touching upon many fundamental aspects of policing, form arrestable offences to the introudction of a national policing plan, the Police Reform Act 2002 will change the face, focus and future of policing. As such, its provisions and their implications are addressed in detail throughout the manuals. Further topical areas covered include terrorism, immigration, firearms and sex offenders.
