"The follwing literary pieces, inserted by Mr. Hearne, in the different volumes of the itinerary, are a valuable accession to Leland's work: these have received many material improvements Mr. Hearne, and in this edition (1770) are printed, from his own copy of the itinerary in the Bodleian library"--V.1, p. 7
