Description
This study focuses on plans for care order children, following a hundred children on care orders for 21 months. It seeks to identify what works for which children and in which circumstances. It pays particular attention to the role of the court care plan, examining how well they are implemented, what factors influence success, and the relationship between implementation and outcome. The findings include the views of children and their parents and carers, as well as those of social workers, children's guardians and local authority solicitors. The features of good care plans are identified, along with ways in which social workers and courts can make plans more robust.
