Description
Understanding your organization is a pre-requisite of effective management: to move forward it is essential to know where you are now. This is true as much of your people as of your organization's processes and finances. However, measuring people is an imprecise science and as such is often overlooked or, if attempted at all, (carried out ineffectively or to an unrepresentative conclusion) ineffective and inconclusive. This title takes a systematic and objective approach to understanding human situations. As well as exploring the process of measurement and comparing the various methods open to HR managers - including how to create the right environment for measurement, how to select the correct measurements for your own organization, and the tools and techniques that can be used - the book focuses on how to make sense of, report on and use the results to bring real and lasting benefits to the organization. The text is broken into topic headings and associated diagrams, and features a series of "tips" which are highlighted from the text. Additionally, each chapter concludes with a summary of the key points covered.
