This collection gathers classic, influential, and important papers in environmental philosophy from the late 1960s and early 1970s (when academic environmental philosophy began to coalesce) to the present. The volumes explore environmental ethics, epistemological, metaphysical, and comparative worldview questions raised by environmental concerns. Volume 1: Environmental Philosophy: Values and Ethics The first volume explores the major concern of environmental philosophy: the intrinsic value of nature, and the proper foundations for non-anthropocentric environmental ethics.
Volume 2: Environmental Philosophy: Society and Politics This volume includes papers which examine politically charged strains of environmental philosophy such as eco-feminism, social ecology, and deep ecology.
