Despite being clearly in possession of both imagination and the powers of deduction, anyone thinking of women's fashion is not in possession of the latest information to be found here: Both institutions maintain their own libraries, detailed entries on which are included in the World Guide to Libraries. A total of 42,127 entries on libraries in 203 countries can be found in the new 19th edition. The claim of this comprehensive, 2 volume reference work is to document the library scene right across the globe covering every imaginable type of library, from smaller ones with collections amounting to only a few thousand volumes/media right up to the big libraries with several million volumes. The contents are arranged alphabetically by country. Within each country the arrangement is hierarchal according to library types, cities and the names of the institutions. Covered are national libraries, academic libraries, university libraries including subject and institute libraries, school and college libraries, the libraries of authorities, churches and companies, special libraries of other patronage and public libraries. All libraries are listed with their place of location, alphabetically sorted by the name of the institution. The index refers to the main part of the work via the consecutively numbered entries.
