内容説明
Students completing coursework for certification by ASHA are required to accrue practicum hours with adult clients. This adult-centered text meets the need for a book that addresses the problem-solving and decision-making process involved with clinical intervention planning for adult communication problems. Klein and Moses present a comprehensive overview of normal adult functioning and changes with aging within a coherent model of management planning.
This book is directed at answering the question asked by practicum students - "What should I do first in therapy?" The authors engage students in a problem-solving, decision-making process in context of selected areas of adult intervention: aphasia and related disorders, motor speech disorders, language learning disabilities; fluency disorders, voice disorders, and bidialectal/bicultural phonological differences. In addition, the book guides students in the derivation of intervention goals and procedures, moving from the development of long-term goals and procedural approaches to specific session goals and procedures.
