Description
There was drama, too, of course, in "King Kong" and, towering above all the rest, "Gone with the Wind". John Huston launched his great trilogy of Westerns (and John Wayne's stellar career) with "Stagecoach". On the other side of the Atlantic Alfred Hitchchock's fame grew with "The Lady Vanishes" and "The 39 Steps" and British upper lips were still stiff in "Sanders of the River" and numerous movies featuring Sherlock Holmes.
