"The Latin text, together with its accompanying Saxon version, is printed from the Cottonian MS. Vesp. A. I ... The corresponding metrical version is printed from three manuscripts ... The text adopted is that of the Cottonian MS. Vesp. D. VII ... The various readings given at the bottom of the page have been gathered partly from the Egerton MS. 614, partly from the Harleian MS. 1770."
