Manyofthesefindingsandtheirimpli- tionsarecoveredinthisvolume. Twoemergentareasofresearchthatare includedinthecontributionsfocusonthepre-BCRandIkaros-familyp- teins. Thepre-BCRisanunusualmoleculardevicethatisusedtoexecute acriticaldevelopmentalcheckpointintheBlineage. Itsmechanismof- tion in relationto the pre-TCR and the mature antigen receptors (BCR, TCR)isofconsiderableinterest.
