Description
Born in 1946, Gianni Versace presented his first fashion collection in Milan in 1978 and his first Atelier collection in Paris in 1989. He has won a Stanley Award, two Cutty Sarks, and the C.F.D.A. Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. He first designed theater costumes in 1983 for La Scala in Milan, and has since collaborated with Robert Wilson, Maurice Bejart, Roland Petit, and Twyla Tharp on operas and ballets around the world.
