内容説明
This study is the first to concentrate on the work of women journalists during the municipal housekeeping movement, explores the different ways women promoted reform activities in newspapers and magazines. It links the work of the earlier women journalists of the 19th century to the themes of domesticity and municipal housekeeping and then explores the work of representative women writers around the United States in specialized club magazines, women's magazines and general interest magazines, and newspapers.
