内容説明
Steve Tobin is one of the great, protean sculptors of his generation. He has worked in mediums ranging from blown and cast glass and clay to steel and bronze as well as such found materials as medical glass tubing, animal bones, fireworks tubes, and military tank windows. He has worked in scales ranging from tiny, exquisite porcelain pieces to monumental outdoor projects. He has also pushed the envelope of what artists can accomplish, blowing glass objects at a scale previously thought impossible; bronze casting termite hills, tree roots and patches of forest floor in extraordinary detail; and exploding clay to create objects that redefine their material as well as our notions of beauty. This volume assembles 20 years of Tobin's work in colour photographs, forming a mid-career survey of a remarkable sculptor who turns nature into art.
