Description

This guide presents an architectural walk round Duke University, revealing the stories behind the historic and contemorary campus buildings, gardens and sculptures. Duke University was founded in 1924. The main campus of medieval-style Gothic buildings was designed primariy by Julian Abele, a senior designer in Horace Trumbauer's Phidadelphia office and at theat time one of the country's few professional African-American architects.
