Description
Energy has been recognized as one of the essential inputs for social and economic development. Linking energy issues to other critical issues such as those of the environment and social affairs is clearly an area that requires additional efforts to support sustainable development. This publication is intendec to strengthen the capacity of energy planners in developing countries by providing a planning tool in developing energy policies to ensure sustainable development. It should be used during sub-regional workshops and during activities at the national level in building national capacities to use the guidelines to shift toward strategic planning and management of the energy sector.
