内容説明

Published alongside the exhibition of the same name at the Whitechapel Art Gallery (11 June - 29 August 2004) - The 2004 East End Academy showcases the work of 22 artists living and working in Europe's most dynamic cultural quarter - The exhibition offers a fresh perspective on the latest developments in contemporary art with works ranging from delicate pencil drawings to room-sized installations and including painting, photography and video - Work selected by Chantal Crousel, Director Chantal Crousel Gallery, Paris; Chris Ofili, artist; and Niru Ratnum, critic and curator. The East End Academy was first launched in 1932 as an open submission exhibition for 'all artists living and working East of the famous Aldgate Pump'.
