Description
This travelogue written by Paul Deussen, a professor at the University of Kiel, recounts his journey in India and very briefly in Ceylon undertaken in 1892-93. He traveled from Bombay to Peshawar then to Calcutta further into the Himalayas then back to Bombay via Allahabad then to Madras and touching Ceylon back home. As with most books that recount travels, this book is full of observations about the people, history, topography, customs, manners and rituals of the people among whom the author traveled.
