The zebrafish has become the standard model for the study of the development of the brain in vertebrates. Molecular biologists, developmental biologists, and neuroscientists increasingly turn to this fish with it's now wide variety of available mutants and known marker genes. This book is intended as a basic handbook and guideline for zebrafish researchers who seek to understand early brain development and neurogenesis in this important model system.
