Description
Obesity has become a major health epidemic. The psychiatric aspects of obesity - contributing to the condition as well as resulting from it - are important for every psychiatrist to understand. This issue examines obesity from a psychiatric standpoint, discussing topics such as body image, behavioral assessment and treatment, obesity and psychiatric status, and self-help programs. The issue also provides numerous articles on the medical treatment of obesity, giving psychiatrists a solid base of knowledge with which to council their obese patients.
