Description
Published annually, this report presents a comprehensive overview of all aspects of household expenditure and income for the year 2003-2004 derived from the Expenditure and Food Survey based on around 7,000 households in the UK. Family Spending provides analysis of household expenditure broken down by age and income, household composition, socio-economic characteristics and geography. This year's report focuses upon three principal topics: expenditure on housing; expenditure by children and the impact of equivalising income. The result is one of the most accurate pictures available of what households in the UK spend their money on today. The report is an invaluable tool for developing strategies based on consumer spending patterns.
The Expenditure and Food Survey is a continuous survey conducted by the Office for National Statistics. These figures are based on information collected in the period April 2003 to March 2004.
