Description and Table of Contents
Description
This international and authoritative treatise covers all aspects of pleural disease. Beginning with a comprehensive introductory section to provide guidance to, and aid understanding of, the basic mechanisms that underlie pleural diseases, the book follows with a series of clinical chapters, discussing all the common and less common pleural diseases. These chapters in this section will be written to a uniform structure covering definition, incidence and epidemiology, etiology and pathogenesis, clinical presentation, investigations, treatments, possible complications and directions for future development. Guidelines for management are included where appropriate and each chapter concludes with a summary highlighting practical patient management 'tips'. The book will be an invaluable reference for, and consulted frequently by, specialist pulmonologists with an interest in pleural diseases, and will also be a useful library reference for trainee and other pulmonary physicians.
