Description
American Universities & Colleges is an essential resource for students; their parents; college advisors; educators; and public, academic, and high school librarians. This set of books was the first major publication produced by the American Council on Education. AU&c includes extensive information on 1,900 accredited colleges and universities that offer at least the baccalaureate degree. The institutions are arranged by state, and then alphabetically by institution. Volume 2 of the set provides four indexes, including an Institutional Index, a Subject Index, a Levels of Degrees Offered Index, and a Tabular Index of Summary Data by State. These helpful indexes allow readers to find information easily and to make comparisons among institutions effectively. Modoc Press, as it has since the 12th edition, collected the data and updated the institutional information.

A two-volume set, American Universities and Colleges provides both the essential statistical data (tuition, room and board, admission requirements, financial aid, enrollments, etc.) and all the other information equally important to decision making (student life, library holdings, physical plant, accelerated and study abroad programs, etc.). Charts and tables provide easy access to comparative data on relevant topics.
