Description and Table of Contents
Description
The third edition of this popular text offers a more explicitly theorized introduction to direct work with abused children. With more emphasis on evidence-based work, it helps practitioners understand abused children's perspectives and their sometimes seemingly paradoxical behaviour. Sensitivity is displayed towards issues of diversity, particularly relating to ethnic heritage and ability/disability. Overall, this is an insightful and wide-ranging introduction to all aspects of child abuse and the practical strategies available for prevention, intervention and support.
