内容説明

"The Encyclopedia of Cleveland History", provides a comprehensive review of Cleveland, Ohio, over its 200-year history. It contains more than 2000 entries, 150 photographs, maps, and charts. Interpretive essays explore the major facets of the community's history, including the environment, rock 'n' roll, women's history, funerals and funerary practices, aviation, the aerospace industry, and ethnic and race relations. Some 1800 shorter entries cover every type of organization and event that was prominent in the city's history; there are factual accounts of such noted organizations as the Cleveland Orchestra, as well as lesser-known groups such as the Ivan Cankar Dramatic Society, which was established by the city's Slovenian community.
