Description
Each winter, young architects and designers are invited to submit work to the annual Young Architects Competition in accordance with a theme selected by the Architectural League of New York and the Young Architects committee. Projects of all types, either theoretical or real and executed in any medium, are welcome. The only restriction is that the entrants must be ten years or less out of graduate or undergraduate school. In the 2002 competition, candidates were asked to examine construction, particularly new or renovated building materials, and the means of creating buildable design through new technologies. The winners include Is.AR Iwamoto Scott Architecture, MESH ARCHITECTURES, LEFT, Della Valle + Bernheimer Design, J. Meejin Moon, and Degree Zero Architecture.
