Description
The saga of the birth of Bangladesh by Badrudding Umar continues with Volume 2, "The Emergence of Bangladesh - Rise of Bengali Nationalism, 1958-1971". In this volume, the author focuses on Ayub Khan, Pakistan's first military dictator, who emerged as a representative of the West Pakistan rising Bourgeoisie. The author cites events that led to Ayub's downfall. The united state of Pakistan, constituting the western and eastern wings, ended on 16 December 1971 with the surrender of the eastern command of the Pakistan armed forces.
