Description and Table of Contents
Description
This is the first book to situate Arthur Erickson's work as a distinctive body of ideas within the mainstream of international architecture. Erickson is the mastermind behind powerful urban works around the world, and his work was widely recognized - he was the recipient of the American Institute of Architects' Gold Medal, and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Gold Medal. This book delves into Erickson's process and philosophy, with more than 170 images, archival photos, drawings and plans illuminating the evolution of his designs. Erickson's notable international work includes the Canadian Chancery in Washington, D.C., the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington, the Dalian Cultural Centre in China, and the Kuwait Oil Complex in Kuwait City.
