Description
This book explores, how the concept of God and the Divine function in different cultural contexts, and how a global dialogue on God can be conducted. It includes contributions from twelve scholars from diverse nations and faith traditions, who have worked in an interdisciplinary framework to illuminate three key issues: models and paradigms for inter-religious dialogue; contemporary discussions on the Christian concept of God; and the ways in which concepts of the "divine" have had an impact on Japanese Buddhism and on Christianity. The authors include: Robert J Schreiter, Catherine Cornille, Notto R Thelle, Karl-Josef Kuschel, David Tracy, Ola Sigurdson, Jesper Svartvik, Eshin Nishamura, Eiko Hanaoka, and James W Heisig.
