Description and Table of Contents

v. 4 ISBN 9783527270491
Description
This volume provides the documentations for the established BAT values and EKA, as well as for further biological exposure values, including an authoritative review of the available toxicological studies and data. For each substance, the metabolism and pharmacokinetics, critical toxicity, exposure and effects, suitable indicators of internal exposure, the evaluation of the BAT value and the correct interpretation of data are described. The basic physico-chemical data are also provided, making the documentations not only essential for the application of BAT values and EKA, but also provide a concise overview of biological monitoring for each substance.
Table of Contents
Biological Tolerance Values. A. Concepts of Biological Limit Values (BAT Values, EKA and BLW). B. Occupational-Medical Toxicological Documentation of Biological Limit Values (BAT, EKA and BLW). Introduction to Biological Monitoring. Biological Monitoring and Biological Limit Values (BLVs): The Strategy of the European Union. BAT Value Documentation. Cyclohexane. Formic acid methyl ester. Hexachlorobenzene, Addendum. Lead and its compounds (except lead arsenate, lead chromate and alkyllead compounds). Lead and its compounds, Addendum. Lead and its compounds, Addendum. Manganese and its inorganic compounds. Tetrachloromethane, Addendum. Tetrahydrofuran, Addendum. Documentation for Carcinogenic Substances. With Biological Exposure Equivalents. Dichloromethane, Addendum. Tetrachloroethene, Addendum. Trichloroethene, Addendum. Documentation for Carcinogenic Substances. Without Biological Exposure Equivalents. Antimony and its inorganic compounds. Beryllium and its inorganic compounds. 1,4-Dichlorobenzene, Addendum. Mercury, organic mercury compounds. BLW Value Documentation. Arsenic and inorganic arsenic compounds (with the exception of arsenic hydride and its salts). Cresols (all isomers). Methyl bromide. Phenol, Addendum. List of Authors and Date of Compilation.
