Description and Table of Contents
Description
This autobiography, originally entitled "Jackdaw Cake" and published in 1985, is an account of the author's experiences in the 1960s and 1970s, recording his life and time spent in the south of Italy. This edition has 50 additional pages. Born in the north London suburb of Enfield, Norman Lewis was sent as a boy into the "care" of three eccentric Welsh aunts in Carmarthen. In "I Came, I Saw", he brings alive the early years in which he changed from a stammering schoolboy into a writer for whom after the war, travel became indispensable.
