内容説明

This novel is set in Cape Town in the 1990s, during the Truth and reconciliation commission's investigations. Marion, of Afrikaner background, hates travelling but runs a travel agency where she has just employed - for the first time - a coloured woman, Brenda. The narrative focuses on the complex relationship between them. Caught up in a narrow world of private interests and self-advancement, Marion has little interest in national events. But the TRC exposes a skeleton in her family cupboard. Her ageing father is unwilling to tell her the truth, so she turns to Brenda for help in uncovering her history.
