This publication is a consolidated edition which amends and replaces Amendment 1/01 (2001, ISBN 0115600906) and Amendment 2/02 (2002, ISBN 0115601058) to Government Accounting 2000 manual in order to take account of policy changes. It provides guidance on the proper handling and reporting of public money in relation to three broad categories: parliamentary requirements (set out in legislation, reflects parliamentary procedure or have been agreed between the Treasury and Parliament); Treasury administrative controls; and best practice.
