内容説明

This title presents a unique philosophical exploration of the work of one of India's finest contemporary artists. It features dedicated mailing and e-mail campaign to targeted art related media & organisations. Tyeb Mehta (b. 1925) is one of India's most celebrated, prolific, and critically acclaimed contemporary artists. In 2005, his painting "Mahishasura" sold for $1.5 million at auction in Sotheby's New York - the highest-ever amount paid for a work of contemporary Indian art. Using Metha's Shantiniketan triptych as a focal point, renowned scholar Ramchandra Ghandi presents readers with a collection of essays reflecting on the metaphysical and philosophical meanings behind the work - in particular the deeper meaning of the Svaraj, or self-realization.
