Description

This book examines legal challenges universities face in their distance learning programs when faculty are commissioned to develop online courses. Many universities require faculty to sign an agreement which allows the universities to repackage the courses and license them, enjoying the profits; the faculty member receives a one-time "development fee." This debate has become a highly-contested issue in higher education.
