Beginning with the contract and insurance policies, it goes on to consider the parties involved, before examining individually marine, life, accident, liability and motor vehicle insurance. It provides a much needed update to insurance law literature at a time of far-reaching litigation and statutory developments. The Statements of Insurance Practice have recently been scrapped, motor insurance law has been entirely revised and new standard marine insurance clauses have been created, while in 2005 the regulatory regime changed fundamentally with the Financial Services Authority taking on regulation of insurance companies and intermediaries.
