内容説明

Pain management is becoming an increasingly important subspecialty of anaesthesia. Most hospitals are setting up an acute pain service, if they have not already done so and the expectations of doctors, nurses and patients regarding pain relief have been raised. It is largely the anaesthetists who provide the medical expertise in pain clinics but they are supported by nurse specialists, physiotherapists, and perhaps complementary medicine practitioners or specialists in palliative medicine. The RCA has issued guidelines to formalise training for anaesthetic trainees. This pocketbook aims to help trainees through the practical aspects of their basic or higher training. The Royal College of Surgeons has also become more interested in the management of acute pain since publication of the joint report of the RCN on pain after surgery. Features: * A practical pocketbook for trainee anaesthetists * Covers management of acute and chronic pain * Attractive and handy pocketbook format * Practical - for use in the clinical situation * Covers basic science background
