Providing basic, practical guidance on the diagnostic tests available in nuclear cardiology, this book is aimed specifically at the novice who orders and needs the data from these tests on a regular basis, but who is not a specialist in nuclear medicine. The focus is on the use of nuclear cardiology testing techniques to diagnose various cardiac diseases and to assess the function of heart muscle. Also included are simplified sections on scientific principles of radiation physics, types of instrumentation used and properties of the different radiopharmaceuticals employed as contrast agents.
