内容説明
Social organization varies greatly from school to school, and this variation fosters different, though equally valid, conceptions of teaching. In this book, the author presents problems and successes that recur in 78 diverse elementary schools. Through qualitative (teacher questionnaires and open-ended interviews) and quantitative research, Rosenholtz enlightens the reader to realize the promise of some teachers impacting their school systems on a district-level magnitude, as well as the perils of other teachers being impacted by the same system. By recognizing the universality of this dual nature, the author believes teachers can affect their teaching environment, and their personal future, for the better.
