Description

The progress in the development and implementation of techniques for the remediation of contaminated soil and ground water has been and continues to be rapid. These proceedings focus on the in situ remediation of the geoenvironment and are a result of contributions by academicians, practicing engineers and contractors. The latest developments reflected in these proceedings represent the combined efforts of contributors from both the Environmental Engineering Division and the Geo-Institute. Contaminants discussed include petroleum hydrocarbons, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, gasoline, BTEX, TCE, NAPLs, and various other hazardous wastes. Topics include permeable reactive barriers, soil vapor extraction, air sparging, containment, barrier walls, slurry walls, vibro-sealing, non aqueous phase liquids, stabilization, solidification, collection technologies, vertical drains, filter clogging, jet grouting, bioremediation, electro-kinetics, radio frequency heating, in situ oxidation, integrated remedial technologies and case studies.
