Description
The initial scepticism of the construction industry towards computers a decade or so ago has given way to considerable interest now that cheaper, more flexible machines - the smaller microcomputers - have become available. There is now an enormous demand for information on what micros' can do and how they work, both at professional and student level, and this book offers guidance to both. Firstly it examines building appraisal problems and office systems to show how the microcomputer can simplify these and improve techniques to save time and money. Secondly it gives the reader a practical introduction to a machine's potential - and its limitations - via programming, using building problems. An invaluable feature of the book is the simple, annotated programs using BASIC.
