Description and Table of Contents
Description
Per Kirkeby is a multi-faceted artist whose activities as a painter, sculptor, poet, film-maker and explorer all reflect his response to the relationship between man and nature in the modern world. This book explores the links between the sculpture and paintings included in an exhibition of Kirkeby's work at the Tate Gallery from 3rd February to the 26th May 1998. It also describes his sources and ideas, and charts his emergence as a Fluxus artist in Denmark in the 1960s and his subsequent rise to the forefront of European art.
