内容説明
"The Rothko Book" is the perfect guide for every art enthusiast: both a practical manual for discovering and understanding the artist, and the complete and authoritative guide to his life and work. Mark Rothko (1903-1970) was one of the greatest painters of the twentieth century and a giant of Abstract Expressionism. His mature works, often featuring large rectangular expanses of colour that appear to hover or float over the canvas, are intensely charged with symbolic meaning and human emotion. "The people who weep before my paintings", he told an interviewer, "are having the same religious experience I had when I painted them".
