In 1994 the International Association of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, and the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology joined forces to organize a combined congress. The meeting, held in Stockholm, attracted papers from leading applied, clinical and research workers around the world, as well as 5000 participants. More than 60 of the key papers presented are published in this volume, providing a representative view of the state of the art of allergology and clinical immunology. All important subfields are represented and all papers have been edited.
